McCain campaigns against himself... again

I got a call from my cousin Wally in Colorado last night right as I was in the middle of heating up my Hungry Man dinner.

He tells me that people in Colorado are pretty angry with U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) over his comments on the need to renegotiate the Colorado River Compact.

There's a chance that Nevada could get more water out of such a renegotiation. But let's try to grasp the McCain national strategy so far: Go to Iowa and point out that you are against ethanol subsidies. Go to Colorado and let them know you want to tinker with their water supply. Then stop by Nevada and tout your support for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump and your dreams of a ban on NCAA betting.

If this keeps up, the conspiracy theorists are going to wonder whose side you're on, Senator.
