County GOP snubs the Revolution
By Wally EdgeIn the political equivalent of standing in the middle of the road and sticking up his middle finger at the Ron Paul Revolution, Clark County GOP Chairman Bernie Zadrowski has scheduled an "All American Barbecue" that conflicts with the Ron Paul-backed convention reschedule.
And it is not a typo: this is scheduled at the exact date, and the exact time as the Ron Paul Revolution convention.
Sneaky and underhanded, yes. But you have to give Zadrowski style points on this one.
The details, for those of you who won't be in Reno:

The event was scheduled LONG before your pretend convention.
What are you going to do when the RNC doesn't recognize your NON SANCTIONED quasi-convention? You'll have a lot of explaining to do to those who wish they would have just gone to a good old fashioned bbq with the CCRP.

i for one would rather spend $10 on a bbq, in clark county, rather than $200 on an airline ticket, another $200 on a room. At the end of both weekends, nothing will have changed. The sanctioned convention is a month later, and thats when real business will be accomplished. So, save your money people, and come to the BBQ~!

Back in Time for BBQ
Actually we'll be done by noon most likely. In the no fluff convention. I'll catch a Southwest flight, back in time for hot dogs and more party Kool-Aid! I be able to tell everyone how it went.

Bernie Zadrowski has been fair to us. This article is not accurate. The BBQ was schedule before the delegate-sponsored convention.
BBQ
You could have promised us nitrate-laden hot-dogs and hormone and antibiotic-infected burgers for life and we would gladly spend the $1,500 it cost to get our family of delegates to Reno, over and over again. Hope you guys ate lots of that good stuff and joked about the "quasi pretend" convention while we completed our business...legally, fairly and by the rules (the real rules). If the convention is not sanctioned, it just goes to prove how dirty, filthy politics really is. The stand-up guy who arranged our fake convention, PAID FOR IT HIMSELF. He didn't ask for one red cent. You all should be ashamed of yourselves asking for 10 bucks for the cheap crap you call food...when you could have joined us and made up to ALL the hard working delegates for your illegal recess.
Clark County Barbecue
I happen to like Bernie Zadrowski. Style points? Whether he scheduled the picnic knowing when the reconvention would be or not knowing, I don't think toadying to those in power ever really earns style points. Maintaining one's dignity while possibly angering the party hierarchy, by showing up and supporting the delegates from his county would sure have earned some style points. Alas, that didn't happen.
But if he, or for that matter you, had bothered to attend the convention, Chuck, you would have seen a convention run free of faction and disharmony (and there were supporters of a number of candidates present). You would have seen a convention that didn't fawn over a bunch of lightweight incumbents who we should all be ashamed of. And you would have seen a lot of even-handedness in the room.
Three county chairs did attend and were favorably impressed. And another tried to attend without being credentialed, and when he was asked to become credentialed, responded in a vile manner and left. Not the level of maturity I would have hoped for.
The people in that room did a professional job and I am proud to know every one of them. Brian Kominsky
