DCCC adds Titus to ‘Red to Blue’ program, puts Derby on ‘emerging races’ list

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today officially added state Sen. Dina Titus (D-Las Vegas) to its "Red to Blue" program and tapped former Nevada Democratic Party Chairwoman Jill Derby for its list of "emerging races."

The "Red to Blue" program is designed to target vulnerable Republican incumbents by raising money for qualified Democratic challengers. In 2006, the program raised nearly $22.6 million, with an average of $404,000 given to each participating candidate.

DCCC launches blistering anti-Adelson ads

Our home town favorite Sheldon Adelson is gaining unwanted infamy in a series of DCCC ads.

Politico is reporting that the ad campaign establishes Adelson as the George Soros of the right, and ties Bible-belt GOP candidates to a gambling empire with ads that feature the candidate with a superimposed photo placed "onto images of a slot machine and a singer wearing gold lamé."

DCCC: IRS Should Investigate Freedom’s Watch

The DCCC today requested an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) investigation into Freedom's Watch tax exempt status.  Freedom's Watch, violating its tax exempt status, has been running political attack ads against Democratic candidate Don Cazayoux in the LA-06 special election, designed to benefit the NRCC and the Republican candidate.

Martin may end campaign if Titus runs

Las Vegas accountant Andrew MartinLas Vegas accountant Andrew MartinLAS VEGAS-3rd District Congressional candidate Democrat Andrew Martin may end his campaign if Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus enters the race, his spokesperson said Tuesday.

"If Dina Titus does enter the race, we will definitely have to rethink everything," said Martin spokesperson Vin Gopal. "[Martin] has a lot of respect and deeply admires Dina Titus, so I'm not sure if we will continue the race if she enters."

Daskas out

Jon Ralston is reporting in his e-mail flash that Robert Daskas is expected to drop out of the race against incumbent Congressman Jon Porter.

Rumors are that the DCCC is courting Sen. Minority Leader Dina Titus for the race.  

DCCC leadership must not have noticed that Andrew Martin, another Democrat, is already in the race.  He's the one yipping and biting at their ankles.

And the countdown begins for a press release from Martin reminding the DCCC of his phone number.

Adelson-backed political group accused of collusion

The Politico released a story today that details a DCCC charge of collusion on the part of the NRCC and Freedom's Watch, an independent expenditure group funded in part by Venetian owner Sheldon Adelson.
