NRCC keeps up the pressure against Titus

Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus.Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus.LAS VEGAS-The National Republican Congressional Committee has continued early attempts to define Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus as "not the right fit for Nevada" in her prospective campaign against Republican Rep. Jon Porter in the 3rd Congressional District.

"Dina Titus lost in 2006 during a Democrat tidal wave," Julie Shutley, NRCC deputy communications director, said in a statement. "With her record and political baggage, her candidacy for Congress will be over before it even begins."

Titus is expected to make an announcement on her potential bid tomorrow.

Dina Titus—Not the Right Fit for Nevada

Release Date: Apr 30 2008

Democrats are scrambling after Democrat recruit Robert Daskas dropped out of the race against Rep. Jon Porter in Nevada's 3rd District. Democrats are currently urging Dina Titus, who was defeated in 2006 in the Nevada gubernatorial race, to take on Jon Porter. A second loss, back-to-back, would be career ending for Dina Titus, and reports from Nevada today show that Titus might not pack as much punch as Democrats are hoping.

NRCC takes first shots at Titus

Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina TitusNevada Senate Minority Leader Dina TitusLAS VEGAS-Although Nevada Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus (D-Las Vegas) has not yet declared for the 3rd Congressional District seat now held by Republican Rep. Jon Porter, the National Republican Congressional Committee has already begun attempts to define her candidacy as "out of touch" and potentially "disastrous for Democrats."

"Dina Titus should think long and hard before launching a second long-shot campaign. Two losses in a row would be career-ending for her," said NRCC spokeswoman Julie Shutley in an early morning release.

"Nevada voters rejected Dina Titus in 2006 because of her liberal record for hiking taxes and giving benefits to illegal immigrants. She should think twice before launching another campaign that will surely end in defeat once again."

Adelson-backed political group accused of collusion

The Politico released a story today that details a DCCC charge of collusion on the part of the NRCC and Freedom's Watch, an independent expenditure group funded in part by Venetian owner Sheldon Adelson.

For the lazy:  the DCCC says the collusion is obvious, the NRCC says the DCCC is making much ado about nothing.
