We see a lot of blue on the Winners list this week with the bump from the Democratic National Convention. Scathing criticism of the Nevada GOP by their own party did not help in an already tough week. | CLICK HERE

RNC to consider state GOP delegate plan today

The Republican National Committee has a meeting today to consider a hybrid plan for a delegate slate for the Republican National Convention. The current plan being considered would accept the six delegates legally elected at the botched GOP state convention and the 24 other delegates that were appointed because the convention never finished.

Both the slate put forward by the Ron Paul Revolution and the slate of appointed candidates put forth by the Nevada GOP have been rejected by the RNC both initially last week and again on appeal yesterday.

    Registration surge continues

The R-J resident political guru Molly Ball has a pair of articles showing just how deep that voter registration hole is for the GOP.

    For the lazy:

The first story is her political notebook, where she gives the big, ugly number that even GOP Executive Director Zac Moyle can't spin: 55,560. That's the new voter registration advantage that the Democrats hold statewide, which is a 6 point change from the last presidential race.

The second piece tells the behind-the-scenes story about how this is happening. ACORN, one left-leaning independent group, has already claimed to have signed up 60,000 new voters.

Looks like the Nevada GOP will need a swift boat to catch up on this.

GOP Convention vs. Ron Paul Convention

Politickernv.com's Joseph Cooper has the latest on the official GOP convention now slated for July 26th at the original scene of the crime, the Peppermill Hotel and Casino in Reno.

So what of the other convention? Remember, there is the unofficial convention for the Nevada Republicans (aka Ron Paul Revolution) that is slated for later this month in Reno.

Ron Paul team announces fake GOP convention

So what do you do if the state GOP won’t finish the state convention? Host your own.

The Ron Paul campaign has decided that the easiest way to get the Nevada GOP to finish the state convention is to finish it without them. They are hosting the Ron Paul version of the Nevada GOP convention in Reno at the Grand Sierra Resort on June 28th. Punch and pie.

I’m sure the RNC will honor a slate of delegates from a Nevada GOP convention convened without the Nevada GOP. No question.
