“As I looked at the group of candidates on both sides there was only one that stood out, that could “turn the page” as he says, and that’s Obama,” said McPeak Tuesday in Boulder City.

“I’m 71 years old, I’ve seen a lot of the world and I am not easy to impress.  And I am impressed [by Obama].”

Retired General tours state for Obama

Merrill "Tony" McPeak will stump for Barack Obama in Nevada this week.: Getty Images PhotoRetired four-star General Merill “Tony” McPeak will be making four campaign stops in Nevada today and two more tomorrow on behalf of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. The events are billed as the “Commander in Chief” tours of Northern and Southern Nevada.

McPeak was Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1990-1994. He will be speaking today in Elko, Battle Mountain, Winnemucca, and Lovelock, then will be coming to Pahrump and Boulder City tomorrow.
