LAS VEGAS-Meeting tonight behind closed doors, the Executive Board of the Nevada Republican Party elected July 26 as the make-up date for the state GOP's aborted convention. Like the previous convention Apr. 26, this will be held at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino in Reno.
The Apr. 26 convention was recessed following the election of several Ron Paul supporters as delegates to the national convention. Paul is the only remaining Republican candidate against presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.
Recently, a Reno-based Paul supporter, Dr. Wayne Terhune, has offered a room at the Grand Sierra Resort to finish the convention.
Terhune's convention is scheduled for June 28.
"We are excited about completing business and moving on towards our end goal of electing Republicans in November," stated Chairman Sue Lowden. "Our Executive Committee has worked hard to secure a location, insurance, and the necessary security precautions for the reconvening of the convention. All credentialed delegates will receive notification of the date and location by mail."
No word yet on if the delegates voted on before the previous convention recessed will be upheld.

The date set by the NVGOP is
The date set by the NVGOP is 2 days too late. 90 days after they stopped the first convention is the limit to setting a date to reconvene. The date picked is 91 days after. McCain delegates have been invited to the one on June 28th. That seems like a more viable date.
Clark County Democrats Don't Look So Bad
I guess the disorganization of the Clark County Democratic Convention doesn't look so bad when compared to the Nevada Republicans recessing their convention so they could hijack the it (and the results of voting they wanted) from their own delegates.
