RENO-The credentials committee of the Nevada Democratic Convention has concluded their business and announced totals for the state's delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The totals are a huge success for Ill. Sen. Barack Obama, who improved upon his showing in the Jan. 19 precinct caucuses and will now head to Denver in August with 14 delegates from Nevada to N.Y. Sen. Hillary Clinton's 11.
2,510 delegates attended the convention, out of 3,563 total credentialed delegates. Their votes, in total, went 55 percent for Obama to 45 percent for Clinton. This was a reversal from January, when Clinton received nearly 51 percent of the statewide caucus vote to Obama's 45 percent.
The delegates were broken down according to congressional district, at-large delegates, and party leaders and elected officials (PLEOs).
In Congressional District 1 in Clark County, Clinton and Obama both received three delegates, 56 percent for Obama to 44 percent for Clinton.
Congressional District 2 went for Obama, with him picking up one delegate from the rural part of the state to none for Clinton, and two from Washoe County to only one for Clinton. Both received one delegates from the Clark County portion of CD2.
Clinton's one victory of the day came in Congressional District 3, where she received 52 percent of the vote to 48 percent for Obama. Both candidates, however, received two delegates from the district.
Both candidates received three at-large delegates and Obama won two PLEO delegates to Clinton's one, because of Obama's larger share of the total convention vote.
Obama had always been predicted the larger share of Nevada's delegates, but it was expected that he would receive 13 to Clinton's 12. Surprisingly low turn-out from Clinton supporters, especially in Clark County, where she had won decisively in January, pushed Obama further ahead.

Well said
The brilliant thing was that the Obama delegates did not gloat... the former President of the US did not bluster... the whole convention put the Republicans to shame. Congratulations Senator Obama. I can't wait for your leadership.
Long but worth it
Obama delegates helped each other to make sure we showed up and that we stayed. I am actually not surprised that Clinton's supporters didn't show as they didn't show at the Washoe County convention either and many of them left early. Clearly, our conviction was stronger. Like many other Obama delegates, we offered our home as a place to stay for those coming from Clark County, our own house guest getting a flat tire and taking 11 hours to get here Friday night driving with her young daughter. She did it because it was that important to her. I heard stories of Clinton delegates arguing with the airlines and checking into hotels BEFORE registering at the convention. It was important to us and we proved it. Several flights in were delayed and there was talk that there was "conspiracy" because several Clinton delegates who arrived too late to be seated, were not. Why didn't they take an earlier flight? Why didn't they fly in the night before? Watching what my house guest went through to be here (a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, little money and no sleep) she showed up. She was here. Others slept in their cars. There was no genuine excuse for someone not to be there by noon with a one hour flight...And when the convention ran three hours over the end time, we stayed while many left.
Today, I felt proud to be a Nevada Democrat but even more proud to be an Obama supporter. I'm proud of the grassroots efforts in this campaign where the Obama delegates came together for a common cause. I did find myself many times sitting with Clinton supporters though and for the most part we were all civil to one another, even enjoying each other's company. I'm sure when the time comes, we will pull together as a party as well.
What a wonderful experience today was for me and for Nevada.
and Clinton's delegates even got a free lunch...
It was a long 14 hours, the schedule was shredded by idiotic protests to procedural matters that didn't matter at all, lots of moving from room to room and numerous times told to hurry up, that something would be happening in 15 minutes which turned into 90 minutes or two hours. But I'm glad I was there, it was cool to spend the day with so many Obama supporters.
Clinton delegates did blame the Obama campaign for their delayed flight (fear the power of Obama). It appears that Clinton went all out to get the delegates to attend, I was told by several that their transportation was paid for, and a 'free lunch' for Clinton Delegates was provided. Maybe a few thousand $$ more doesn't matter when you owe as much as HRC.
I knew it

Obama, just like the other "firm favorite" Ron paul, isnt going anywhere, He just doesn't have the right friends in the right places. It down to this, A woman, a black man, and a white man with powerful friends. America always gets what it is given in terms of President.
