Reid on The Daily Show

LAS VEGAS-For anyone who missed it, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night, plugging his new book, The Good Fight. Reid was unsurprisingly soft-spoken, as noted by Stewart, and revealed a little of his motives for writing the autobiography.

"I tried in the book to let the people of Nevada, since I was born there, went away to high school, to college, law school, practiced law, went into public service, about two and a half million people have moved to that sparsely populated state," said Reid. "They don't know who I am. They see little snippets about me on TV, on radio, on newspaper, people don't know who I am. I thought it was important to tell a story about really who I am and that in America if I can make it, anyone can."

Reid's book comes at a crucial time as another difficult reelection campaign looms for him in 2010. In October of last year, an LVRJ poll found Reid's approval rating lower than Pres. Bush's at 32 percent.

Reid later called the poll "worthless."

As much as I'd love to kick

As much as I'd love to kick Reid in the business, I actually almost felt sorry for him. I said almost. The man has no soul & it shows.

You need to cheer for the Home Team Dummies

I will admit Reid sure seemed down last night.
By the way newbie political pundits, having the Majority Leader of the Senate from you State, is a GREAT THING for ALL of us in Nevada!
Replacing him in 2010 with a Freshman Republican in the middle of a Democratic Presidency would put Nevada BACK 25 years.
The Good People who write this Blog live in New Jersey, and only represent Nevada's intrests in the Title of the Blog. Google them. See for yourself.

Zeke, I'm offended

Hello Zeke,

While the publishers of this web Site do indeed hail from New Jersey, I've been in Nevada working for this site since its launch late last year.  I live and do most of my work in Clark County, although I have made quite a few trips up into the Rurals and to Carson City.  I will be in Reno later this month covering the Democratic convention.  My editor, who goes by the pseudonym "Wally Edge" has lived and been active in Nevada politics significantly longer than I.

It's good to see you commenting again, by the way.  We've missed you.
