Newly filed candidates in Clark and Washoe Counties:
Congressional District 1: Chris Dyer has joined the growing list of Republicans hoping to knock off Shelley Berkley in the fall.
Assembly District 1: Democrat Marilyn Kirkpatrick has filed for another term.
Assembly District 2: John Kamerath of the Independent American Party has filed for Garn Mabey's open Assembly seat. In 2006 Kamerath received less than 4 percent of the vote in the same district.
Assembly District 5: Republican Donna Toussaint has filed for Valerie Weber's open assembly seat. Joining her is independent candidate Don Woolbright.
Assembly District 13: Former congressional candidate Andrew Martin has filed to take on Republican Chad Christensen in this now-Democratic leaning district. He is joined by Independent American candidate Leonard Foster.
Assembly District 15: Democrat Patrick Boylan has filed to challenge Assemblywoman Kathy McClain in the primary. The seat is heavily Democratic.
Assembly District 16: Republican Glenn V. Greener has filed to challenge Democratic Majority Floor Leader John Oceguera.
Assembly District 21: Assemblyman Bob Beers has filed for reelection and has already received one challenger, Henderson Democratic Club President Ellen Spiegel. Both are likely to face primary opponents.
Assembly District 22: Republican Assemblyman Lynn Stewart has filed for reelection in his GOP-leaning Henderson/Boulder City seat district.
Assembly District 23: Democrat Allison Herr has filed for retiring legislator Rosemary Womack's seat.
Assembly District 24: Assemblyman David Bobzien has filed for reelection in northwest Reno.
Assembly District 27: Assemblywoman Sheila Leslie has filed for reelection.
Assembly District 29: Republican star candidate Sean Fellows has filed to succeed Susan Gerhardt in what will likely be one of the tightest races of the season.
Assembly District 31: Democratic Assemblyman Bernie Anderson has filed for reelection.
Assembly District 42: Incumbent Democratic Assemblyman Harry Mortenson has filed for reelection.
