Wiener not retiring

LAS VEGAS-Despite rumors to the contrary, Democratic state Sen. Valerie Wiener said this weekend that she is not retiring and has already begun campaigning for reelection.

"It's simply not true," said Wiener regarding the rumors.  "Isn't that interesting, because I was the last one to hear about it."

Wiener has begun canvassing her district, having done two walks in the past week and with plans for 70 more before November.  She said that she had walking partners committed all the way through the election.

"This is my favorite part, the walking," said Wiener.

Wiener has not yet drawn a challenger in the heavily Democratic 3rd Senate District.

Weiner loves walking?

I love that she says her favorite part is the walking. This is a total smoke screen. And she has protested the "I'm not running" thing so loudly that it's obvious that she really doesn't want to run, but was talked into it by Dina Titus.

We'll see how well she does without Titus to support her. She spent years running around in Titus' shadow, and has never stood on her own before. She might get saved by the reg advantage in her district, but if they get a decent candidate against her she won't even cover the reg margin.

Her favorite part is the walking. What a joke. The only thing this article shows is that she's a terrible liar.
