Lieutenant governor to report from Republican National Convention

Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki will join thousands this week in St. Paul, Minn., the site of the GOP National Convention.

Nevada Republicans going lean 

Last week in Denver, Nevada's Democratic delegates trickled down each morning to a breakfast just for them, with tote bags and other giveaways provided by sponsoring Nevada corporations like Newmont Mining and Sierra Pacific Resources.

Gov. Gibbons chides Forest Service over fire

State prison played key role in city's history

Seven apply for Douglas County recorder

Seven people have applied for the position of county recorder, which will be vacated today when Werner Christen retires after 30 years of working for the county.

County’s double-checking feds’ work on Yucca

Ex-official: Gibbons didn't apply pressure for tax break 

CARSON CITY -- A former Elko County assessor did not feel pressured by Gov. Jim Gibbons to give the governor a tax break on ranchland he bought near Lamoille, according to Nevada Ethics Commission transcripts released Friday.

Joe Aguirre told an Ethics Commission investigator that he had a "very cordial conversation" with Gibbons when the governor showed up in his office on Sept. 1 to inquire about obtaining an agricultural classification on 45 acres of ranchland. (Review Journal, Ed Vogel)
