WSJ: Freedom’s Watch, Adelson could prove critical
By Ben BreierLas Vegas casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson and his right-leaning advocacy group Freedom's Watch could be key in financing Republican campaigns across the country, according to a story in the Wall Street Journal.
As the paper wrote:
In the Las Vegas casinos that made Sheldon Adelson one of the country's richest men, a "whale" is someone willing to bet millions. Republicans are hoping Mr. Adelson will be their whale this election.
As PolitickerNV.com reported, Freedom's Watch targeted congressional candidate and state Sen. Dina Titus (D-Henderson) earlier this month with a series of robocalls highlighting her lack of action on Nevada's high gas prices. In June, the group aimed at Rep. Shelley Berkley with allegations that she doesn't back U.S. troops.
So far, the group's results have been mixed. According to the Journal, two of the three House special elections Freedom's Watch has targeted in heavily Republican districts have ended in failure, which could lead conservatives to question if Adelson's efforts are helping or hindering the party.

Of course this senile old bat wants Porter and will attack Titus and Berkley with all his might. Why? Maybe because they wont be a puppet for billionaire casino moguls. That does not mean they are enemies of the gaming industry, it just means they will treat them the same way other NV businesses and middle class citizens are treated. It wont work this time people see through these elites trying to control and distort information. Mr. Adelson better be careful or his properties revenues will continue to plummet. It will have nothing to do with Titus and Berkley- it will have everything to do with a struggling national and world economy where middle class people no longer can afford to visit his casino (and when they do they spend less). It will have everything to do with the backlash for being overly partisan- in a year where the country is trending democratic he is attacking them. And it will have everything to do with his GREED and inability to see the forest for the trees. Mr. Adelson, what good are your tax breaks for the wealthy when they come on the backs of middle and working class people who you rely on to keep you in business??? It makes me sick that a billionaire can spew false republican propaganda and get away with it.
Porter?
Why is it assumed that Porter is going to win the Primary against Bunce. Republicans have been wanting to get rid of him for 5 year but not have had chance to vote him out. This year is their chance. Porter has voted our country down the tubes following the Bush Administration's lead. I think the Media will have a surprise in August.
